LIBERAL COURSES: PHOTOGRAPHY

The liberal courses, organized by L.A.B.A. ONLY FOR EUROPEAN STUDENTS, are offered in three months or yearly (November-May) periods.
The courses are available in flexible hours; morning, afternoon and evening. All of them are conducted by qualified and professional professors.
At the end of each course, will be issued a certificate released by L.A.B.A. (Libera Accademia di Belle Arti legally recognized by ministerial decree ( D.M.) 27.04.2000).

THE FILM
The film- black and white, colors, opposites, compositions and characteristic of the camera, film, sensitivity, grain dimension, power definitions, contrast of the negatives, tuning and toning.

EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS FOR THE DARKROOM
General materials, accessories for the humid counter, accessories for the dry counter, materials for negative development, the tank, materials for development and for enlargement, the enlarger, the objects, light for printing, chemical products, disposition of the darkroom.

DEVELOP A NEGATIVE
Develop a film- general considerations, the chemistry of development, components and their characteristics, development techniques, time/temperature relation, stop bath, fixer.

PRINTING PROCEEDINGS
The photographic paper, resin coated based paper, grades based paper, multigrade and filter based paper, development solutions for sensitive paper, contact printing.

CONTROLLING THE CONTRAST
Negative, filters, light, exposure, development, paper grades, multi-exposure, masking.

ELABORATION
Special materials (policontrasto paper, panalure paper, photo-mechanics film), high key and low key printing, flou effect, correction of distortions, deliberate distortions, whitening and toning- complete or partial, black and white cartoon, netting, frames, combining two negatives, combining frame-negative, printing in succession, photo relief, solarization, grid, negative printing, photomontage, use of blurred in printing, colors of printing.

ANCIENT PRINTING TECHNIQUES
Study of supports- wood, glass, ceramics, fabrics, paper. Study of double exposure- collage for color controllers, neutral collage. Study of emulsions, preparation of emulsions and their characteristics, salt water paper, bichrom rubber, bromine, Van Dyck' brown printing, carbon, mixed techniques, artificial or solar light exposure, develop and fix with water, creative techniques.
