MASTERS COURSE IN PHOTOGRAPHY

WHO IT IS FOR
The Masters course in Photography of the LABA is a top level artistic training for students who already got a 1st level or a 2nd level Diploma in subjects related to the Photography.

WHERE
Lessons are held at the LABA of Florence in Piazza Badia a Ripoli 1/a.
The Academy has equipped laboratories: digital cameras and PC Mac, we provide Internet access solutions such us cable Internet access, all classrooms have got plasma screens so it is possible to hold interactive lessons. The teaching staff has a top level artistic and professional background, while the Academy has created relevant synergies with public and private institutions.

GOALS
The aim of the course is to create professional figures who will be ready to enter the Visual Communication world and to give them knowledge in traditional and multimedia circles thanks to the practical and conceptual instruments offered by the LABA. Students will be able to develop relation strategies with the cultural environment in order to give an effective promotion of their artistic work.

A particular emphasize will be given to encounters with artists and critics, to stages in private and public institutions, seminars with non-resident teachers.

PROGRAMME
The advanced formative programme is mainly relative to the aspect of creativity. The aim of the course is to give the students a diversified broad in the several circles of the Photography. This is the 5th edition of the course and it gives the students the opportunity to work with an artist and a professional of the field.
During the course students will meet international artists and professionals at conferences and workshops.

OCCUPATIONAL FIELD
At the end of the course the student can start a career in many circles: advertising, cinema, theatre, fashion, multimedia communication, or as an art director in a professional study. He can also work as responsible for the image (firms, agencies, publishing houses )art curator, editor, publicist etc.

TO BE ACCEPTED TO THE MASTERS PROGRAMME at least one of the following is required:
- Art Academy Diploma
- Short Degree in disciplines related to the Photography
- Specialisation Degree in disciplines related to the Photography

In case the candidate does not have the basic knowledge in Photography, the Academy gives the opportunity to attend preparatory courses during the months of September / October .

DURATION OF THE COURSE
The Masters consists of 6 months of lessons and includes a complete professional portfolio, an academic thesis supervised by a L.A.B.A. consultant, a study/work program with a professional photographer.
In addition to standard lessons held during the week end, the students will be involved in a program of study/work with an artist which will introduce them to the career of photographer. The course will also be a kind of internship where the students will cooperate with an expert.
To obtain the Post Lauream certificate of the LABA students must attend all courses.
Lessons are held during the week-ends.
