THREE YEARS' PROFESSIONAL COURSES: PHOTOGRAPHY
The three-year professional courses organized by L.A.B.A. have an annual duration (November-May), containing about 500 hours a year. The courses are available in flexible hours; morning, afternoon and evening. All of the courses are conducted by qualified and professional teachers in each of their respective fields. Final exams will take place at the end of May. At the end of each course a three-year professional diploma will be issued, released by L.A.B.A. (Libera Accademia di Belle Arti Leg. Ric. con D.M. 27/04/2000).
The course proposes to provide the theoretic and operative tools needed for the students to approach photography: a language and expressive autonomy that is growing more evident in the context of contemporary art and culture. The course will instil a solid knowledge of the fundamentals- both theoretic and technical in the students.
This is even more obvious in digital photography, the last phase in the technical and linguistic evolution of photography: in this field, in fact, information is often caught between promotional advertisements and overly specialized manuals. The course aims, instead, from the very first lessons to study the particular characteristics of digital photography in depth while still utilizing the techniques and language of traditional (and perhaps now ancient) photography. In order to accomplish that goal the course is tightly connected to the Photography Laboratory courses.
In addition to the material experimented and demonstrated in class, a wide space will be saved for critical discussion over the students’ works in progress as well as their completed projects.
